The demonstration of the capabilities of the Russian missile Oreshkin, Vladimir Putin’s “new weapon”, has caused concern and bewilderment in the West. For his part, the President of the Federation seems to consider it as the weapon capable of turning the tide of the war in Ukraine and giving the Kremlin a significant advantage over its opponents
The former head of the Ukrainian army and the current Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, Valery Zaluzhny, said on Thursday that the involvement of Russia’s autocratic allies in the war in Ukraine means that “World War III” has begun, writes Politico. “Ukraine is no longer in conflict with Russia. In front of the Ukrainian soldiers stand soldiers from North Korea. Let’s be honest. Iranian drones kill Ukrainian civilians without any shame,” said Zaluzhny, adding that Ukraine is being attacked with North Korean and Chinese weapons. Zaluzhny said it is still possible to stop the conflict and called on Ukraine’s allies to draw the right conclusions from the above.
“For some reason, our partners do not want to understand this. It is clear that Ukraine has many enemies. Ukraine will survive with technology, but it is not clear whether it can win this battle alone,” he claimed. Zaluzhny is credited with keeping Ukraine from collapsing after Russia attacked it in late February 2022. The Ukrainian president dismissed Zaluzhny in February of this year after the two failed to agree on how Ukraine should position itself in the conflict with Russia. The Ukrainian military is now led by Oleksandr Sirsky, a figure who Politico says is closer to Zelensky.
TARGETING THE BASE IN POLAND
The latest statement by the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, supports his claims. She said on Thursday that the US anti-missile base in the village of Redzikow in Poland is a “priority target for possible neutralization,” Politico reports. “Given the levels of threat posed by such Western military facilities, the anti-missile defense base in Poland has long been included among the priority targets for possible neutralization. If necessary, this can be achieved using a wide range of advanced weapons,” Zakharova said. Commenting on the mentioned base, she said that it “raises the overall level of nuclear threats.” The US anti-missile base in Redzikow opened on November 13, is part of the US anti-missile shield and is the first US military installation in Poland.
ORESHKIN MISSILES
The demonstration of the capabilities of the Russian Oreshkin missile, Vladimir Putin’s “new weapon,” has caused concern and bewilderment in the West. For his part, the President of the Federation seems to consider it as the weapon capable of turning the tide of the war in Ukraine and giving the Kremlin a significant advantage over its opponents. During a meeting with defense leaders, the Tsar ordered its mass production and declared that the medium-range ballistic carrier cannot be captured. During the meeting, the commander of the Russian Missile Forces emphasized that the Oreshniks can reach targets throughout Europe. Moreover, according to Moscow press agencies, a decision was made to conduct new tests of the carrier in combat zones.
GERMAN PLAN
That the situation is alarming is also confirmed by the fact that German politicians agreed on a 1,000-page strategic document with instructions for action in the event of a major conflict. The RF Armed Forces of Germany contacted private companies to prepare for emergency situations. The document, called the “German operational plan,” contains a list of facilities and infrastructure that must be protected for military reasons. The document also states what to do in the event of an attack on Germany, high tensions, and a reaction to Russia’s maneuvers on the eastern border of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. In that case, Germany would become an important hub and would need to be able to transfer hundreds of thousands of soldiers, military equipment, food, and medicine to NATO’s eastern border.
