The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has announced that Kosovo and the USA will soon finalize the agreement on the Strategic Dialogue.
She said that the news was confirmed by the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard R. Verma, whom she met in a meeting on Friday.
“After the proposal I sent to the United States of America, as President of the Republic as early as 2021, then reconfirmed in June 2022 through a verbal note as well as in the meeting with Secretary Blinken in July 2022, as well as after an extraordinary work of our teams over the past years, today in a meeting with US Deputy Secretary Richard Verma, he confirmed to me that Kosovo and the USA will soon finalize the Strategic Dialogue”, he wrote Osmani.
She described this as an extraordinary achievement.
“This is an extraordinary achievement that proves that genuine partnership, based on shared values ​​and interests, always brings results. I thank the Government of the United States of America for this support to the people of Kosovo and I look forward to continuing the intensive cooperation in the interest of Kosovo. Our teams will meet soon to finalize the agreement on the Strategic Dialogue, which will include very important areas in the interest of the citizens of Kosovo”, Osmani wrote after the meeting.
The Strategic Dialogue between the US and the states is a forum to deepen the partnership between them and that affects several areas, such as security, economic and relations between peoples.
In a press release from the Presidency it is stated that “nThe meeting discussed Kosovo’s commitment to reforms in the rule of law, the advancement of good governance and the promotion of a stable environment for investment and economic development.
“President Osmani and Secretary Verma also discussed Kosovo’s contribution to international affairs, including the reception of Afghan citizens, support for Ukraine, and continued commitment to promoting global peace and security,” the communiqué continued.
