Kosovo, a potential country for the production of drones

The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, regarding the government’s decision to open a factory for the production of ammunition and for laboratories for the design of drones, has said that it is necessary, given the threats and global security challenges. He added that not only for security reasons, but also as an opportunity for economic development, the Ministry of Defense is an important component.

“Today it is necessary for all countries to have a Ministry of Defense, in order to create stability in terms of defense, given the threats and global security challenges that are present everywhere, especially in Europe after the Russian attack in Ukraine “, Macedonci said for public television.

He further added that for this purpose there was a need to discuss with strategic partners, which, as he said, “culminated today with the signature of the Prime Minister for the establishment of the Commission for Research and Development for the opening of the factory for the production of ammunition, as well as for the opening of the laboratory for the design of drones without pilots”.

Macedonia pointed out that Kosovo will produce weapons and drones, for which talks are being held with Turkey. He explained that drones have already been proven to be effective on the battlefield, especially in the war in Ukraine.

“So it is a need and opportunity for our young people to be part of the innovations in this field and for our country to be a country where there can be potential for the production of drones”, said Maqedonci.
