Shaip Kamberi, the only Albanian deputy in the Parliament of Serbia, said that the Progress Report for Serbia for this year is a call for justice and equality for the Albanians of the Presheva Valley.
He added that that report is an overview of the situation of the minorities, especially the challenges and problems faced by the Albanians of the Valley.
Kamberi has listed some of the points that he says are in the report and the Albanians have repeatedly raised them. It includes the lack of implementation of the rights of Albanians, the passivation of addresses and police controls, the insufficient representation of Albanians in public institutions and the police, the lack of education in the Albanian language, the lack of public services in the minority language, hate speech and discrimination , etc.
“This report cannot be understood otherwise than as a call for Serbia to fulfill its obligations towards Albanians in the Presheva Valley, minority rights, act transparently and respect the rights of Albanians as equal citizens. We will not be silent! Our rights must be protected, and our voice will be heard,” Kamberi wrote on Facebook.
