Thinking Machines Lab, the new AI startup founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, is reportedly aiming to close one of the largest seed rounds ever, with a target of $2 billion. According to Business Insider, if that figure is reached, the company’s valuation would reach at least $10 billion, despite the startup not yet having a concrete product or revenue.

What makes the company so attractive to investors is its team: in addition to Murat himself, well-known industry names such as Bob McGrew and Alec Radford, both with experience at OpenAI, are already part of the team as advisors. Thinking Machines Lab has stated that it aims to build AI systems that are more understandable, customizable, and capable than existing ones.
